Yes, that scattered garbage (ravens, no doubt!) was all over Denman Rd (near Kelsey Rd) Thursday, September 17th when the first photo was received by our staff.

By the time Rod MacCuspic arrived to clean it up (he works with Highways) someone else was on the scene doing the dirty job. Mega kudos to visitor Kiley Granberg for reading the nearby sign 😉 ♥🌎 and stepping up! 👏 💚

Don't forget to secure all curbside garbage, folks (bags on their own like this are an extra easy target for crafty critters!) And don’t forget that pickup is now only every two weeks… next one is not until Thursday, September 24th (please refer to schedule on our page here!)

We’re hiring! Deadline for applicants is October 7th.

HAPPY UPDATE re: GARBAGE PICKUP DELAY, July 23/26

Cairo has made it back to the island and has resumed pick-ups. He may be late getting to you, but the goal is to complete the job today!

"We need to inform you that Cairo has run into an issue with his work truck today and needs to leave the island for diagnosis/repair.

Cairo has completed all of Lacon Rd., the right side of Denmand Rd. up to and including the Corrigal Rd. area.

We are attempting to coordinate with our backup truck, but can not predict the turnaround time." - Strathcona Recycling
