We are posting with some sad and urgent news….

The Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, where we received our Autism Assistance Dog Guides, is in dire need of support.

Over the past year, they have been building a new training facility in Oakville, Ontario. Construction is over halfway finished, but has stopped due to funds unexpectantly not coming in. No work can continue until $5 Million is raised immediately. A total of $20 Million is needed by the end of October or the entire program could be lost. Due to the amount of money that is already been committed to the building project, they may have to shut down their training program for good and sell off resources if the funding cannot be raised. This would mean no more dogs could be trained in their 7 different programs: Autism, Service, Hearing, Vision, Seizure Response, Diabetic Alert and Facility Support.

Please help us save their program, their dogs have been lifesaving for our families and the same could be said for the 1000s of other Canadians who have received one of LFCDG’s amazing dogs over the years.

We will be holding a pub night fundraiser at The Landing on October 17th and are also selling DQ Blizzard cards for $30. You get 5 Blizzards per card (4+1 free) and they don't expire until Dec 2028, which means you can buy a bunch now and lock in this great deal!

This is the most urgent fundraising campaign in LFCDG history!!!

Please see a message below from LFCDG regarding their new Training Facility.

"We have $60 million committed toward our new national Dog Guide training school, but we must raise another $20 million to resume construction and continue operating. To get there, we’re asking everyone — government, major donors, corporate partners, Lions Clubs, and the public — to join us.

We are calling on the public to raise $5 Million toward the shortfall, and we need help urgently to get building again, secure the future of our programs, and meet the growing demand from Canadians waiting for a life-changing Dog Guide. Every contribution, large or small, will bring us closer to opening the doors of this world-class facility, safeguarding our programs, and giving Canadians living with disabilities greater independence, safety, and support."
