Last week at work, the song, “You are not alone” by Michael Jackson came on when one of my preschoolers looked at me and said, “We are not alone, we have the moon, the sun, and the stars.” She then added, “Monisha, do you know they follow ME everywhere?!” 🥹🥹
As adults, we often carry layers of experience that can make the words, “you are not alone,” feel complicated. Hearing her say it with such simplicity and certainty really opened my eyes. It reminded me of a version of truth that existed before the world taught us to question it. She didn’t just feel not alone, she felt special, like the sun and the moons purpose was just to follow her. I thought that was so beautiful. Moments like that let you peek back into innocence. Somewhere along the way, we forget how to see it. But moments like this are such a precious reminder that connection is all around us, just waiting to be noticed 🌻💛
