Youth Volunteer and Mentorship Program
Orientation Day
May 30
10:00 am – 12:30 pm
The Delhi To***co Museum Youth Volunteer and Mentorship program was so successful that we are bringing it back for 2026. Youth volunteers can offer something unique to our programs, whether you have a special talent or interest or just enjoy working with kids.
The Youth Volunteer and Mentorship Program is offered to youth ages 14 and older. Volunteering is a great way to begin to build a resume, earn school volunteer hours, make new friends, and develop leadership skills.
Before they can begin to volunteer, all youths are required to attend an orientation day at DTMHC. This short session includes an introduction to the museum, Health & Safety and AODA training, a fun museum challenge, and a pizza lunch. After successful completion of the museum orientation, youth volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in programming. Volunteers will be scheduled based on need.

If anyone is in the Peterborough area you should definitely take a look at the Hope Mill on the Indian River. It is an amazing historic site run completely by volunteers. This operational sawmill does tours, workshops and cuts custom wood to real size. Imagine getting a 2X4 that is actually 2X4. The volunteers that run the site are very friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you so much The Friends Of Hope Mill for your wonderful tour!
