Newfoundland & Labrador Snowmobile Federation Dedicated to providing strong leadership and support to safe, organized family oriented snowmobiling.

It was a pleasure to attend the Newfoundland and Labrador Snowmobile Federation’s awards event in Deer Lake and celebrate the people who provide so much for our snowmobiling community.

Snowmobiling is an important part of winter life here in Newfoundland and Labrador that brings people together, supports local businesses and gives residents and visitors the opportunity to explore our beautiful trails.

Thank you to the Federation for the invitation, and congratulations to all the award recipients.

A very special shoutout to our one and only Muriel “Murm”! ❤️

This year’s AGM was a little bittersweet as it marked Muriel’s final AGM with the NLSF before she heads into retirement.

After more than 20 years with the Federation, it’s hard to imagine the office without her! Muriel has been such an important part of our team over the years, and her dedication, knowledge and willingness to help have meant so much to all of us.

We even managed to convince her to get up and say a few words at the AGM (which doesn’t happen everyday 😂).

Murm, you’ve been so much more than a coworker, and we’re certainly going to miss having you around. Thank you for everything you’ve done for the NLSF and for all the laughs and memories along the way.

We’re not quite ready to say goodbye just yet, but we couldn’t let your final AGM go by without giving you a little extra recognition!

A great weekend in Deer Lake for our 2026 AGM and Awards Banquet!

Thank you to everyone who joined us throughout the weekend and helped make it a success! We were pleased to welcome MP Carol Anstey, whose continued support of the NLSF and our snowmobiling community is truly appreciated. We also welcomed Dan Sutherland from Mapgears Trails, who arrived a few days early to explore some of our trail network and joined us at the AGM to give a presentation on our trail map app. Thank you as well to Dr. Blair Adams from Forestry, Agriculture and Lands NL for taking the time to speak with our group.

A special thank you to Pat Curran for leading our strategic planning sessions with NLSF clubs, board and staff. We also held elections for our 2026–27 Board of Directors and wrapped up Saturday with our annual Awards Banquet, recognizing the individuals, families, clubs and volunteers who make a difference in snowmobiling across our province.

Thank you to Deer Lake Hotel & Suites for hosting us and providing delicious meals throughout the weekend, and congratulations to all our 2026 NLSF Award winners! We'll be highlighting each of our winners in separate posts over the coming days.

📣 Shout out to Rapid Power Sports and Rugged Edge for supporting recent NLSF group ATV rides in partnership with the Bay St. George Snowmobile Association and the Western Sno-Riders Clubs. The 3,300kms of existing “snowmobile” trail physically connects rural communities and enables four-seasons access. Corporate citizens like Rapid Power and Rugged Edge help “create communities” of resident and non-resident riders - all year round! These riding communities know no boundaries - they are just happy to get off their tablets, get out on the trails and come from varied backgrounds, professions and interests. Volunteerism and corporate support in off-road trail building, maintaining and nurturing these riding communities is where the true rural magic happens. 🙏 THANK YOU to ALL the corporate citizens who constantly give back to the off-road riding ecosystem - who help us CONNECT 🦺 and CREATE 🤝 communities!

🙏 Thank you Hal Cormier, MHA St. George's - Humber and staff for finding some time to spend with reps from the NLSF, Western Sno-Riders, the Town Of Steady Brook Municipal Page, and even the 2026 Canadian Council of Snowmobile Organizations (CCSO) Snowmobiler of the Year (NLSF and WSR Volunteer) Rick O’Brien! 🏆 What a beauty Autumn 🍁 day to see first hand the multi-partner Phase 1 and 2 trail projects being completed from the City of Corner Brook through to the Town of Massey Drive, Steady Brook/Marble Mountain and on to the Town of Pasadena - a critical stretch for the entire island-wide network. The work done in these last couple of years addresses a number of long standing issues and sets the stage for “trip-plan worthy” 🧐 all season access to our rural communities and businesses. Together, we’re building a much more reliable, four season friendly off-road vehicle network. There’s more fine tuning to be done. ✅ We look forward to exploring further multi-partner developments and collaborations with our experience providing friends at Marble Mountain and Blow Me Down Trails - among others! On your Mark-et Readiness, Get Set…Let’s GO! 💨
