Good Friday evening boaters! It’s finally starting to feel like May and with the first official long weekend of the summer, this fine looking crew is excited about another year on the water. Our student, Wyatt, will be out and about once the beaches make their reappearance, while the rest of us will do our things behind the scenes to make sure the whole operation runs smoothly.

For those of you who’ve purchased your 2026 memberships already, we appreciate your support. Memberships are available from any of us and via e-transfer to rria DOT deepriver AT gmail DOT com. They remain $25 for the season.

If you’re out enjoying the river already, be mindful of both the cold water and floating debris. As always, boat safely!

Good morning boaters! After a long winter, the ice is gone but so are the beaches! Anyone who’s been near the river in our area will know the water is very high. A few folks are venturing out, so we just want to remind you of the hazards with higher than normal water. This is the time of year that sticks and logs can get floated away from their normal positions and cause a hazard to boaters, as well as deadheads that we can see in the summer are now lurking below the surface.

Your RRIA is gearing up for another season and we’re anxiously awaiting the water to go down, and to warm up! We just picked up this year’s stickers and are starting to see e-transfers come in already. Thank you to those who have already purchased your memberships.

To those of you who are out on the water, please take extra caution in your travels.

Merry Christmas Boaters! May the best of the holiday season be with you all.

Good Monday afternoon boaters! While summer is still a long way away, at least the days are getting longer now 😉

If you’re looking for a last-minute gift idea for your favourite boater(s), look no further! After a (great!) suggestion from one of our members, we’re now offering gift memberships! For now, we’d request purchasing via etransfer while we test the idea. In the memo for the transfer, please include the season being purchased (i.e. 2026 for next year), the name of the recipient, and an email address for them. We will send the membership coupon to you, which you can print or email to the recipient. They can use this coupon to get their sticker at one of our locations in the spring, or can send to us and we will send out the sticker.

Memberships remain $25 for the 2026 season. Please bear with us as we work out the bugs for this process, and as always thanks for your support!

Good evening boaters! While the boats have been put away for a while, your RRIA officially closed off the season last night with our year end meeting. While memberships were down this year, continuing a trend over the last few years, we successfully maintained the beaches all summer and garnered new support from valued partners.

As always, thank you to those who contributed and it was a successful 60th anniversary year.

Good evening boaters! We hope you’re enjoying this unseasonably warm weather as much as we are.

Despite the warm temps, we know winter is coming. Your RRIA executive and students, and some dedicated volunteers, were out today putting tables above the high water line for the winter. For those of you still out enjoying the river, please re-stack any tables you take down to make sure they don’t get carried away by ice and spring high water levels.

Our beach service will continue for at least one more week if this weather holds. Once again, thanks for your support and we hope you had a great season!

Good evening boaters, the normally upbeat messages are taking a sideline tonight as we acknowledge the stark reality of the tinder-dry conditions in the area. Folks keeping tabs on Deep River may know there’s a fire on Mt. Martin facing Deep. We all have our fingers crossed it doesn’t spread and can be extinguished tomorrow.

The owners of Fraser’s Landing have asked us to ask everyone to please not have fires at Fraser’s. As it’s private property, they can rescind access so please respect their wishes and don’t jeopardize their generous offer of using their property for our enjoyment. We would extend that and ask everyone to both refrain from campfires while camping and to remind everyone you know that any little contribution to sparks could have devastating consequences at this time.

As boaters we don’t tend to love rain, but let’s all hope that some comes soon.

Good morning boaters! Despite yesterday’s storm (and the much needed rain) the weather for the last few weeks has been back to more “normal”. Your RRIA have been hard at work keeping the beaches cleared up and making the experience more enjoyable for users.

Please note that although water levels are coming down to what we’d be more used to, they remain above seasonal. This can shift sandbars, hide deadheads, etc. Please use caution coming into beaches or anywhere you’re not extremely familiar with.

Keep cool out there, and as always boat safely!
