The Deep River & District Community Foundation (DRDCF) will hold its 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) upstairs at the Community Events Centre, next to the Community Church, on Wednesday, June 17, at 7:00pm. Please go to our website for more information, including our 2025 financial statement at https://www.drdcf.ca/agm

This year, our theme is "The Power of Giving - The Importance of Donors" and we are very pleased to have numerous Grant Recipients speaking about how our grants have helped them complete their amazing projects! There will also be a musical interlude by one of our Scholarship Recipients, Emma Bagshaw.

Everyone is welcome to join us! Come learn more about our contributions to the community and our successes. As of December 31, 2025, the Deep River and District Community Foundation (DRDCF) has contributed over $900,000 to our local community since 2002, with $81,000 given back in 2025 alone. This significant impact is thanks to your continued support, which has allowed us to grow our assets to over $2.3 million.

We look forward to seeing you at our AGM and supporting our Foundation!!

On June 3, we announced the 7 Grants totaling over $41k that were awarded in our 2026 Spring Grant Cycle. During the 24 years the Foundation has been in existence, a total of 320 Grants have flowed into our communities.
The 2 grants being recognized are:
Performances for Children - The 1st photo shows the $3k cheque presentation to the Deep River Public Library and THEOP in the Library Children's Room.
L-R: DRDCF Director Brian Cheadle, Library Child & Youth Services Robin Dennis, Grants Committee Chair Teresa Selander & THEOP Chair Katharine Myers.

This collaboration between the Library & THEOP will see the presentation of 2 performances primarily for children ages 4-10: a classic puppet play & a play incorporating comedy & circus. Since they are presented outside school hours, they are available to every child in the community.

Performing Arts in School - The 2nd photo shows the $5k cheque presentation to Mackenzie Community School.
L-R: DRDCF Director Chris MacCready, DRDCF Chair Italia Cecco, MCS Elementary Teacher Kathryn Roesler & MCS Principal Megan Robillard.

Working in collaboration with THEOP, these performing arts experiences will provide students at Mackenzie Community School & St. Mary’s Catholic School the opportunity to witness a variety of musical performances.
There are 4 types of funds held by the DRDCF: Named Funds, Field of Interest Funds, Designated Funds & Bursary Funds. You can see them all described at www.drdcf.ca/funds.

A donor can contribute to a Field of Interest Fund such as The Environmental Legacy Fund, The Arts & Education Fund, or the Deep River Area Health Care Fund when they want their donation to support that particular area of philanthropy.
Designated Funds are funds initiated by & designated for a particular organization. The DRDCF has 3 such funds: The North Renfrew Family Services, The (Deep River) Library Endowment & The Four Seasons Conservancy Fund. Anyone can contribute to the capital but only the designated organization can use the fund’s earnings to support projects.
