Moosehide Gathering

A biennial celebration of Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in (Hän) culture and traditions that takes place at Moos Catch up with old friends and make new friends.

The Moosehide Gathering is a biennial summer event founded in 1993 by a group of dedicated Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in (Hän) people who wanted to celebrate their cultural traditions. The event is a celebration of Hän traditions and culture, held every second year at the heritage site of Moosehide village. It’s an inclusive event that brings together people from across Canada, Alaska, and even visitors from

overseas. Come share in First Nation culture – enjoy performances, guest speakers, feasts, dancing, drumming, singing and more. Artisans among you are invited to bring arts and crafts; musicians are encouraged to bring instruments. *Moosehide Gathering 2024, July 25th - 28th*

Welcome to Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Traditional Territory and the 2024 Moosehide Gathering—our 16th Gathering since 1993.
Moosehide Gathering is time to reconnect with family and friends and to share our language, culture, and traditions. Moosehide Village has been a special place for Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in for millennia.
Here, our people have hosted potlaches to honor people and significant events, celebrating with songs, dancing, drumming, and feasts provided by the bounty of our land. On the banks of the Yukon River we gather at Moosehide to keep the spirit of our ancestors alive and give thanks to our Elders for protecting and teaching our traditions.

Join us on July 25th at 3:00pm for the Opening Ceremony
Followed by the evening program at 7pm, with Ed Peekeekoot and Jimmy and the Hammerstones.

The following days are filled with traditional performances, dances, workshops and other activities. Join us and learn about our culture.

Program sneak peak: Hypnotist Show with Scott Ward, Hoop Dancing Workshop with Indigadancer Feryn King, Music by Gary Simple, Kevin Barr, Dennis Allen, Music Workshops by the North Klondyke Hwy Music Association and much more!
