It was so wonderful to gather with this amazing group of hardworking, professional, and dedicated volunteers and receive this donation. Thank you to everyone involved with this event, from the sponsors, to the volunteers, to the donors and participants. We couldn't support people with ALS at the level we do without people and events like this. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Meet Lael Aucoin, our Social Worker at the ALS Society of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia! 💜

Lael Aucoin is a Registered Social Worker with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers and the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers, providing psychosocial support to individuals and families living with ALS. With extensive social work experience, Lael brings a strong background in advocacy, case management, crisis support, and working alongside individuals and families through complex and life-changing circumstances.

In her role with the ALS Society, Lael supports clients and families as they navigate the emotional, practical, financial, and relational challenges associated with an ALS diagnosis. She is committed to providing compassionate, person-centred support while helping individuals identify their strengths, make informed decisions, access resources, and maintain quality of life throughout their ALS journey.

Lael's practice is grounded in a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and anti-oppressive approach. She values building trusting relationships and creating a safe space where individuals and families can express their concerns, process difficult emotions, and explore what matters most to them.

Hello, friends!

The ALS Society of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia is working on something very special for Giving Tuesday — December 1st.

We’re keeping the details under wraps for just a few more weeks… but we need your help to make it happen!

We are looking for 40 gently used artificial Christmas trees, approximately 4 to 7 feet tall. Have a tree tucked away that you no longer use? We would love to give it a new purpose! 💜

Trees can be dropped off at the ALS Society office, or we can make arrangements to pick them up.

If you can help, please contact Alice at [email protected].

40 trees. One special Giving Tuesday surprise. And a whole lot of hope. 🎄💜

Thank you for helping us make something wonderful happen!
