CavUnity Volunteer Association is excited to announce that we will be attending the CPA High School Career Cafe on Thursday November 12, 2026, at CPA High School in Bedford!

Join us from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM to learn more about CavUnity, our youth-led volunteer initiatives, and the opportunities available to young people to develop leadership skills, gain volunteer experience, and make a meaningful difference in their communities.

We look forward to connecting with students, sharing our experiences, and introducing more young people to the impact of youth-led volunteerism across Nova Scotia.

CavUnity Volunteer Association is excited to announce that we will be attending the Halifax Fall Volunteer Fair on Tuesday November 3, 2026, at the Halifax Central Library in Paul O’Regan Hall!

Join us from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM to learn more about CavUnity, our youth-led volunteer initiatives, and the many opportunities available to young people across Nova Scotia to get involved in their communities.

We look forward to connecting with fellow organizations, meeting prospective volunteers, and sharing how CavUnity is making a difference through youth-led service and community engagement.

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY

Today, CavUnity recognizes World Mental Health Day, a reminder that mental health is an essential part of our overall well-being and deserves care, compassion and understanding.

Everyone’s experiences are different, and no one should feel alone in navigating life’s challenges.

Today, we encourage our members and community to check in on one another, challenge the stigma surrounding mental health and create spaces where people feel safe, supported and heard.

Small acts of kindness, meaningful conversations and a willingness to listen can make a difference.

Let us continue building a community where mental health matters every day, not just today.

As we wrap up our first month of operations for the 2026–2027 operational year, our Founder & Executive Director, Isaiah Cox, shares a statement of appreciation for the members, leaders, and volunteers who have helped build momentum across CavUnity.

From our Board of Directors and leadership team to our executive and general members, every individual plays an important role in advancing our mission. Through collaboration, district breakout sessions, and the development of new ideas, we are laying the foundation for meaningful action and lasting community impact in the months ahead.

Thank you to every member for your continued commitment, leadership, and dedication. We are proud of what we have built together so far and look forward to everything still to come this year.

Today, our Founder & Executive Director, Isaiah Cox, had the opportunity to meet with Brendan Roberts, Executive Director of Students Nova Scotia.

The conversation provided an opportunity to learn more about both organizations, discuss areas where our work and priorities overlap, and begin exploring potential opportunities for collaboration in support of students and youth across Nova Scotia.

Thank you to Brendan for taking the time to meet with Isaiah and for the work you do each and every day advocating for students across our province. We look forward to continuing the conversation and exploring how our organizations can work together in the future.

OPERATIONAL UPDATE

Due to power outages affecting parts of the following districts, operations will be paused for the remainder of today:
• District 6 — Lunenburg County
• District 11 — Annapolis County
• District 16 — Pictou County

Operations in these districts will resume as scheduled tomorrow, unless otherwise communicated.

There will be no further updates regarding this closure. Members are asked to remain safe and follow any guidance provided by local authorities regarding the ongoing power outages.

Domestic violence can affect people of all ages and backgrounds. By speaking up, educating ourselves, supporting survivors, and challenging harmful behaviours, we can help build communities where everyone feels safe, valued, and respected.

This month and always, CavUnity stands with survivors and is committed to promoting safety, compassion, and respect. Together, we can help break the silence and work toward a future free from domestic violence.

CavUnity is continuing to strengthen youth voices within our organization, and we are seeking young people who are interested in serving in youth seats on our Board of Directors.

Youth representation is an important part of CavUnity’s governance. These seats provide an opportunity for young people to contribute their perspectives, participate in organizational decision-making, and help shape the future of a youth-led organization.
