Are you passionate about delivering person-centred care that creates meaningful change?

The North End Community Health Centre (NECHC) is seeking a Physiotherapist to join our collaborative, multidisciplinary team supporting individuals with complex health and social needs. This is more than a traditional physiotherapy role, it’s an opportunity to improve health outcomes, reduce barriers to care, and help people age in place with dignity.

Working across our Brunswick Street Supportive Housing program and primary care clinic, you’ll collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, dietitians, and community partners to provide holistic, trauma-informed, and culturally safe care.

Position Details
Location: 2445 Brunswick Street, Halifax, NS
Hours: 37.5 hours/week | Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Term: 1-year term with the possibility of extension
Salary: $36.58-$48.53/hour (based on experience)

We are looking for a registered Physiotherapist with experience in collaborative practice and a strong commitment to health equity, trauma-informed care, and supporting people experiencing barriers such as poverty, homelessness, and systemic discrimination. At NECHC, you will be part of an organization that believes healthcare extends beyond clinic walls. Together, we’re building healthier communities through compassion, advocacy, and equitable access to care.

Brunswick Street Mission is deeply disappointed by the Government of Nova Scotia’s decision to change its regulations following the Court of Appeal ruling that recognized a tent as accommodation for income-assistance purposes.

The Province has replaced the broader term “accommodation” with a new, narrower definition of “home,” potentially affecting not only people living in tents but also those renting rooms in private homes or shared accommodations. This will impact many of the community members we already serve through our critical food security and social services.

People experiencing homelessness already live in extreme poverty. Denying them enhanced financial support only deepens that hardship. Every person deserves dignity, compassion, and enough income to meet their basic needs. We urge the Province to reconsider this decision and invest in meaningful supports and safe, permanent housing.
