Thank YOU Dalmeny!

We had our bottle drive on Tuesday evening and raised just over $1600. One of the best yet. These funds will be used to upgrade and replenish our equipment for the soccer seasons to come. ⚽️

⚽ Dalmeny Minor Soccer Needs Volunteers! ⚽

We’ve had some amazing new committee members join Dalmeny Minor Soccer this season, and it’s exciting to see our soccer community continue to grow!

This year, we have 134 kids ages 4–18 playing soccer right here in Dalmeny — a fantastic opportunity for local youth to stay active, build friendships, and enjoy the game close to home.

To keep our program running strong, we are still looking for volunteers to help fill a few important roles:
Equipment Coordinator
Ref Coordinator
Vice President
Coach Coordinator

Many of our current volunteers have dedicated years of their time to these positions, and we’d love to bring in some new faces to help share the workload and keep Dalmeny soccer thriving.

No experience is necessary — just a willingness to help support local kids and community sport.

Hello everyone,
Welcome to the upcoming spring soccer season! The snow is finally starting to melt—just in time for us to get back on the field. The season officially kicks off next week, and we’re excited to get started.
By now, coaches should have reached out with practice details and game schedules. If you haven’t heard from your coach yet, please let us know.
A few quick reminders:
• All rules, schedules and field locations can be found on the VSA website. https://valleysoccer.ca
• Our bottle drive will take place on Tuesday, May 19th. Please sign up using this link. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C044EABAF2AA4F8C16-63150083-dalmeny #/
• Soccer registration takes place in February each year. We saw a high number of late registrations this season, which created some avoidable challenges with team organization. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and encourage families to register on time next year.
• Respect for our referees—many of whom are young and developing—is extremely important. Please help create a positive environment by encouraging them and showing respect at all times.
A huge thank you to our volunteer coaches who stepped up this season—your time, effort, and commitment make this program possible, and we truly appreciate everything you do.
We’re looking forward to a fun and successful season. Thanks to everyone for being part of it, and best of luck to all players!

Meet at the JJ Loewen Centre. Those who sign up to drive around town to collect will take a crew and map and collect bottles and bring back to JJ. Have you wondered who the mysterious person with the fancy black binder is at every game?

That’s your Field Marshal… aka part referee assistant, part crowd control, part “please don’t yell at the ref, Karen” specialist 😅

Their official duties include:
- Grabbing the legendary black Field Marshal binder from the coach before each game (very important for authority vibes)
- Signing their name in said binder
- Politely herding parents back so the linesman doesn’t trip over rogue lawn chairs
- Keeping the sideline calm, cool, and mostly respectful
- Diffusing drama before it turns into a full Netflix series
- Cleaning up after the game like the unsung hero they are

👀 Basically: if you’re about to yell something spicy at the ref… they’re the friendly face reminding you this is just a game

Please take turns throughout the season being a Field Marshal —they’re out here keeping the peace so the kids can play ⚽
