Wow. That was one heck of a day! We are still trying to wrap our heads around it all! Thank you all so so much for spending the day with us in Crystal Beach! We will have updates, pictures, videos, updated record books, etc over the next few days and will meet soon to start to plot out next years race! What went right. What went wrong. What could be better. We have lots of ideas to implement. Our goal is to make this the biggest, the most fun, the best swag, the silliest and an awesome family and friends tradition! Thank you thank you to everyone whether your a Day 1’r or a CB5K newbie!

The more people that pick their bibs up tonight the easier it will be for our volunteers tomorrow! Everyone who picks up tonight at Pearl Spa on Erie at 3932 Erie, will receive a ballot for a chance to win a free nights stay at Hotel Philco….not too mention a number of businesses including South Coast Cookhouse and Mabel’s Pizza are “running” specials tonight for CB5K’rs!

FAQ:

With over 925 people pre-registered, this years 20th running of the CB5K promises to be the biggest and bestest ever!

We wanted to get some information out ahead of the race:

We encourage everyone to get as early as possible. With so many people, leave yourself plenty of time. PLEASE BE PATIENT WITH US! WE'VE ADDED EXTRA VOLUNTEERS, BETTER SIGNAGE, MORE PORT O' POTTIES, MORE MEDALS, MORE SHIRTS!

PLEASE BRING A NON PERISHABLE FOOD ITEM FOR COPE!!! LOOK FOR THE VINTAGE TRUCK! LETS HELP OTHERS THIS THANKSGIVING!!!

We will have signage out early, but we definitely encourage everyone to come down Elmwood Ave, or even better, Schooley Rd. There is a large parking lot at the end of Schooley as well as a lot of street parking in that area, and it’s only a short walk to the START/FINISH.

WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE AS MANY AS POSSIBLE TO PICK UP YOUR PACKET THE NIGHT BEFORE, FROM 4-9PM AT THE PEARL SPA ON ERIE (3934 ERIE RD). EVERYONE WHO PICKS UP WILL BE ENTERED FOR A DRAW FOR A FREE NIGHTS STAY AT HOTEL PHILCO!

Day of packet pickup will begin at 7:30am near the START/FINISH. There will be limited registration day of that will begin at 7:30am. It will be cash only and is $45

There are only a handful of medium shirts left, but we will have ample finisher medals

Kids race is at 10:15am. There are 3 distances to choose from. One about 250m, one is one lap which is about 700m or so and one is 2 laps with is about 1.4km

Main race starts at 11am.

Dogs are welcome, but we ask they start towards the back of the race. Walkers at the back as well please.

Please stay to the right on the course.

We will have vintage race shirts as well as some other fun shirts for sale for $20 cash day of.

Everyone of age is entitled to a free draft b**r. We will have b**r and coolers for sale.

Awards will be after the race and will be about 12-1 or so.

We have a DJ who will play until about 2pm.

There will be free water, cookies and bananas after the race, and a local youth hockey team will be operating a BBQ fundraiser, so bring cash if possible.

YOU CAN TAKE YOUR BIB TO SOUTH COAST COOKHOUSE AFTER THE RACE FOR A FREE SMALL DRAFT B**R WITH A PURCHASE ALL DAY SATURDAY, OCT. 10.

IT'S GOING TO BE AN AWESOME DAY, WE ARE SO GLAD YOU'RE JOINING US!!

We have now surpassed 900 participants! Cray for a little race that started in 2005 with 103 people!!! Still time to join in the fun as registration closes at midnight tonight!

Well we are down to just 34 race shirts remaining (all happen to be medium oddly enough)! Online registration will cut off Oct. 7! Still time to join this party….but not much!!
