CMSA COACH QUICK START: THINK BEFORE THE BALL ARRIVES

At CMSA, we are working to build more than skilled players…

We are building smart players.

Players who can:
See the game
Solve problems
Make decisions quickly
Play with confidence

One of the biggest steps in player development is helping young athletes learn:

“What should I do BEFORE the ball gets to me?”

The best players don’t just react…

They prepare.

Before receiving the ball, players should begin asking themselves:

Where are my teammates?
Where is pressure coming from?
Where is the space?
What is my best option?

At CMSA, this connects directly to our coaching philosophy:

Control → Look → Pass → Move

and our focus on:

THINK EARLY. DECIDE EARLY. PLAY FAST.

For coaches, this means creating environments where players are encouraged to problem-solve, make decisions, and learn through experience — not simply be told every answer.

For parents, this means understanding that mistakes are part of learning. We are helping players develop confidence to think, try, adjust, and grow.

TINY THUNDER TAKEOVER: FARM DAY FUN!

Mooooove over… the farm came to CMSA this week! 😄

Our Tiny Thunder soccer stars brought the imagination, excitement, and BIG smiles as they headed to the farm for another fun-filled soccer adventure!

From running like horses to moving like farm animals, chasing soccer balls, and exploring through play, our little athletes reminded us that at Tiny Thunder…

Soccer begins with imagination.

But the magic doesn’t stop with the kids.

❤️ To our amazing Tiny Thunder parents… thank you.

Thank you for bringing the love, encouragement, laughter, and support that makes these moments so special. Watching parents jump into the fun, explore the imagination, and experience these memories alongside their little soccer stars is what makes this program truly unique.
