Laura’s back to tell us why she’s supporting Kootenay Holds! ✨

And she said what we’ve all been thinking… Creston is almost perfect but it really needs a climbing gym! 🧗‍♀️

If you want to help bring more climbing to Creston, you can donate at kootenayholds.com/donate or e-transfer [email protected]! Every little bit helps 💛

For Finn, the world is one big climbing wall ✨

Through climbing, balancing, reaching, and problem solving, kids build confidence. That’s why a dedicated kids play and climbing zone is a non-negotiable in our vision for the Kootenay Holds Bouldering Gym.

We want to create a space where young children can move freely and develop important physical skills while parents can supervise and get a climb in themselves. We’re building more than a climbing gym. We’re building a community space for all ages.

If you’d like to make this vision a reality, please consider donating at kootenayholds.com/donate or e-transfer [email protected]. Every contribution brings us one step closer to having a bouldering gym in Creston.

For many people, getting outside to climb isn't always easy. Work schedules, family responsibilities, weather, and travel time can all make it difficult to stay connected to the sport we love 💛

An indoor bouldering gym would create a year-round space where climbers of all ages and experience levels can stay active, challenge themselves, and build community 🌟

We're working hard to make this vision a reality, but we need your help.

Every donation brings us one step closer to securing a space, building the walls, and opening the doors to a bouldering gym that serves the entire community. Whether you're an individual who wants a place to climb or a business that believes in supporting healthy, active communities, your contribution can make a real difference.

Help us build something our community can be proud of.

What does climbing mean to Kristy? Family 💛

We want to create a space where kids can move, explore, build confidence, and burn energy year-rounds. A place where families can come together. A place where toddlers, teens, parents, climbers, and complete beginners all feel welcome.

This project is about building community and creating opportunities for connection, movement, and play here in the valley.

If this vision resonates with you, we’d love your support.

Donate at kootenayholds.com/donate or e-transfer [email protected] to help get this going!

If you missed our Community Engagement Night last week, here are some key takeaways:

Creston wants an accessible, year-round space for climbing, movement, and connection. Families are looking for indoor play opportunities for kids and teens.

We shared our Phase 1 concept for the basement space in Creston Place: a 2000 sq ft downtown location with 10 ft ceilings that gives us a real starting point.

The current concept includes a bouldering gym, toddler play zone, open flex space for birthday parties/events/fitness, coworking desks, and area with couches/games for people to connect.

Next Step: Fundraising. This is the part where we need your help.

The lease for this space is available July 1st and securing it is critical towards making Kootenay Holds a reality.

Our goal is to raise $15,000 in community sponsorships and donations so we can begin leading the space and move closer to the next phase of development.

If the community wants this gym now, we have a real opportunity to make it happen.

You can donate at kootenayholds,com/donate or e-transfer [email protected].

We have sponsorship tiers for businesses and individuals with recognition opportunities throughout the gym and online. We are also able to issue receipts for tax purposes for eligible sponsorship contributions.

If you aren’t able to donate right now, sharing this project also helps a lot! Tell your friends. Talk to local businesses. Share our posts. Every conversation helps build momentum.

Let’s build something meaningful together 💛

We’ll start by saying we’re not climbing gym designers 😅

This isn’t a promised final product, but it is a reflection of the kind of experience we want to create for Creston.

A place to climb.
A place for kids to play.
A place to move, connect, work, gather, and build community.

This is our current Phase 1 concept for Kootenay Holds. It includes a modular bouldering gym and family-focused community space in downtown Creston. While details may evolve depending on funding and the space itself, there are two things that are non-negotiable for us:

🧗 A bouldering gym
🤸 A kids play zone

Everything else grows from there.

After our Community Engagement Night, it because incredibly clear that this community wants a space like this. Now we have the opportunity to make it happen.

Our next step is securing a lease. To do that, we’re working to raise $15,000 by July 1st through community donations and sponsorships.

If you believe in creating more opportunities for recreation, connection, and community in the valley, we’d love your support.

You can donate here: https://www.kootenayholds.com/donate

Or send an e-transfer to: [email protected]

For businesses and larger sponsors, sponsorship recognition opportunities are available and we can issue receipts for eligible contributions.
