Latest update on future new courts: We have signed an MOU with the Creston Valley Pickleball Assn that basically says we will work together to make new racquet sports facility a reality! We met jointly with Natasha Ewashen - planner at the Town hall - and discarded the other potential sites for new courts, so we are back to Kinsmen Park as a project site. Now we will meet again with the pickleball folks to update our budget before meeting again with Town personnel, who will then forward our proposal to the RDCK so that Areas A, B, and C will be included in the service. Clear as mud? If anyone has any questions or input on this process, please let us know. Stay tuned!

Well, we gave it our best shot, but no luck on the Creston and District Credit Union grant of $25,000 this time. šŸ˜¢
Congratulations to Creston Valley Minor Baseball, Creston Search and Rescue, and Creston Trails Society! Nice to see $75,000 going into some worthy projects in the valley.

The Creston and District Credit Union is going to award 3 lucky applicants with $25,000 each as part of their 75th Anniversary celebration. I just delivered a presentation to the board on behalf of the CV Tennis Club for funding for a racquet sports facility at the former Kinsmen Park. Successful applicants will be announced in July. Hoping for the best!

At our AGM last week, it was decided to try a couple different times for social tennis this year. We are going to try Thursdays at 6:00 pm and Saturdays at 9:00 am. Everyone is welcome, young and old, new to tennis, old veterans, and everyone in between. Come on out and meet some other tennis players!

A huge shout out to the Creston Fire Rescue crew that showed up today to wash down the courts. And a big thanks to our tennis players (Lorraine, Ted, Peter, Pauline, and Robin) who showed up with brooms, etc. to help get the courts clean. Sorry, I forgot to take a photo
