Happy World Turtle Day! World Turtle Day is aimed at raising awareness about protecting turtles and their sensitive habitats. We are beginning to see our very own Western Painted Turtles move across West Creston Road in search of a nesting spot! Do your part and keep our sweet little guys safe:)

Happy World Wetland Day! Wetlands are the kidneys of the planet, helping to keep water clean as well as storing water, protecting areas from floods and erosion and providing habitat to an abundant amount of plants and animals. They are truly amazing and we are honoured to be able to offer education programs in this stellar outdoor classroom!

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been grateful for the generosity of community members who believe in the power of hands-on, outdoor learning at the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area (CVWMA). Every gift brings us closer to another year of inspiring environmental education through our Wetland Education and Awareness Programs (WEAP).

As we plan for 2026, our goal is to reach:
🌱 2,000 students through K–12 school programs
🌱 100 children in nature-based summer camps
🌱 5,000 visitors at the Discovery Centre
🌱 Thousands more through canoe tours, walking tours, and special events
