Awe a day before Remembrance Day 🌺 With profound sadness, we share the passing of John Kinsel Sr., a revered elder and one of the last surviving Navajo Code Talkers. At the age of 107, he leaves behind an enduring legacy of courage and service. From 1942 to 1946, as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps, he used his sacred Navajo language to create and deliver unbreakable coded messages—communications that proved instrumental in the battles of Bougainville, Guam, and Iwo Jima, and helped shape the course of World War II. His bravery and devotion will forever be remembered. ❤
