Thank you to the family of Gunner George Williams for joining us at our branch to help us honour and hang a tribute on our wall to George. George’s family traveled from Elkford, Calgary and San Diego California.

George was a Far East POW during WW2. He endured horrific conditions before being liberated. George eventually made his way to Kimberley where he worked, married and raised his family.
He became an important member of his community. He was a Royal Canadian Legion member and was involved with the Boy Scouts just to name a few.

George was known to say “Every day after captivity is a day celebrated “

We would like to thank George for his service.

We would like to thank the Fraternal Order of Eagles for kindly allowing us to use their kitchen to prepare salad for tonight’s Rolling Barrage BBQ.

Thank you to John and Dane from McPherson Funeral Home for stopping by our branch today to present us with a $2000 donation. This was the money raised from the Rockies Fest pancake breakfast.

Thank you to McPherson’s for having our precious pictures of our boys from WW2 who did not return home repaired and reframed. It is very important to our branch that we preserve and protect these items.

All of these young men have their names inscribed on the cenotaph in Rotary Park.

If you missed our gentle workout Belly Babes, you missed a great time.
This was a great way to workout those muscles in a fun gentle way. Great for all ages physical abilities. Stay tuned for our next class.
