Kenzie, we are so proud of you! Watching you learn, grow, and develop your incredible confidence and public speaking skills has been truly inspiring. You have accomplished so much, and we know you have a bright future ahead.
We wish you all the very best this Friday night—we'll be cheering you on every step of the way! Thank you for becoming part of our Rotary family. We are delighted to have you with us and can't wait to see all the amazing things you'll achieve. 💙💛
Good luck, Kenzie—you've got this! 🎉👏🌟
Over the next few days, we will be profiling our seven 2026 Cranbrook Youth Ambassador Candidates. In this post, we feature Kenzie Hert.
Kenzie is the eldest daughter of Stuart and Lindsay Hert. She has two younger sisters, Micky and Alexa.
Growing up, Kenzie lived on Vancouver Island and a west coast theme can be seen across her artwork. She is fond of acrylic paints, focusing on realism. When she’s not in front of a canvas, you can find Kenzie planning out a sewing project, a hobby inherited from her grandmothers.
Kenzie has always loved music, and she has been playing flute since Grade 6. Some of her favourite memories include band trips and music camp. Two of her proudest moments were accompanying piano in her first ever solo; and playing in an orchestra where there were only two flutes. Kenzie is currently teaching herself to play the penny whistle and hopes to someday play the piccolo as well.
Kenzie is in Grade 10 at Mount Baker. She has been on two leadership teams and was previously student council treasurer. She has volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club’s Youth Impact and helped create Buttons & Beyond, a non-profit button making business that supports neurodiverse youth. There, she was the Creative Designs Manager.
Kenzie was honoured to be presented a Citizenship Award for her contributions to her school, as well as the Keystone Certificate in Leadership.
Following graduation, Kenzie would like to get a Bachelor of Education Degree and become a teacher.
Kenzie is proud to be sponsored by Cranbrook Rotary.
