In the last while, we have been receiving varied feedback about why people come to the Public Produce Garden; to pick fresh food, to reduce garbage by composting, to learn new gardening ideas, and to enjoy the quiet & the beauty .

As we approach the Thanksgiving weekend, we wondered if people might provide their own specific gratitude for the garden. We are excited to hear from you. Thanks! 🥧

We have been getting lots of fall work done at the Priduce garden with the help of grade 11 &12 Mount Baker students from the Environmental Awareness class. Their enthusiasm, laughter and work ethic spurred on by their teacher, Leigh Cormier Yeates leads to amazing outcomes. We say a very big Thank You!

Blueberries!
Thanks to another amazing community donation (5 blueberry plants from Joseph and Sharon) and significant soil prep by many garden volunteers, the Public Produce Garden has a blueberry patch!

Blueberries can be a bit tricky to grow as they need acidic soil. 🤞hopefully the addition of peat moss and sulpher to the soil with a top dressing of pine needles will lead to tasty 🫐 🫐 blueberries.

The plants are ready. The seeds are ready. Come on down for the Public Produce Garden's first plant swap and seed saving workshop. Here until 2 pm with hot drinks and goodies.

The last of the GRAPES have been harvested at the Public Produce Garden. They will give your taste buds a wake up call, although thoroughly enjoyed by a group of day care kids who stopped this morning for a taste test. The rest of the grapes can be found in the farm stand.
