We are so grateful to all of the amazing partnerships we've made in our community over the last 45 years. Inspired by Louise Penny’s Inspector Gamache character, Virgin Hill's Melange Gamache is an awesome coffee…and also supports literacy!

A huge Cheers! and Thank You! to our friends at Brûlerie Virgin Hill Coffee for the $1169 donation from Gamache Blend coffee sales. Thank you to Louise Penny for championing the cause of literacy and supporting YLC.

Thank you for supporting us in providing our services to the wonderful people of the Eastern Townships. ❤️

This is an important issue that affects all of us, especially adult learners, who will face barriers to learning and pathways to the workforce. Eastern Townships School Board has outlined a call to action to reach out to stakeholders to make your voice heard. If you need any digital literacy support with the template, please reach out to us.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐕𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐈𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞.

Bill 8, introduced on June 4, could have major consequences for students, families, employers, and communities across our region.

➡️ 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝟕𝟎% of adults currently attending our training centres would no longer be eligible by 2028.

➡️ 𝟖𝟓𝟕 𝐀𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 could lose access to their studies, representing a 𝟔𝟗% 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.

➡️ Up to 𝟗𝟎% 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 could disappear in some vocational training programs that lead to essential, in-demand careers.

➡️ 𝟖𝟓% 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 in ETAGE's Social Participation Program could lose access to services that support independence and community participation.

Beyond the numbers, the future of vital programs, local jobs, and hundreds of qualified bilingual graduates who go on to work in our hospitals, schools, businesses, and construction sites is at risk.

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬.
We encourage you to contact your provincial representatives, mayors, and local business organizations to help raise awareness about the potential impact of Bill 8 on our region.
