What an incredible night! Our movie night in support of the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation brought the community together for a packed evening of fun, connection, and giving back.

We are proud to support the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation which continues the incredible fight to fundraise for the hospital redevelopment. Bowmanville Hospital is more than just a place of healing, it’s a cornerstone of our community, and its growth means better care for all of us.

A huge thank you to Matthew Cronin and Dylan Reed from Their Opportunity for joining us this week to share their story and mission!

Their Opportunity is doing incredible work across Canada, helping ensure that all children, regardless of financial barriers can access the benefits of sport. From national programs to their powerful Giveback model, they’re building stronger, more connected communities through youth engagement.

Matt and Dylan also shared their campaign for Giving Tuesday, where every donation this month is matched, doubling the impact for kids who need it most.

🌟 Thank you MP Jamil Jivani! 🌟

We were honoured to welcome Bowmanville-Oshawa North MP Jamil Jivani to our Rotary Club of Courtice meeting this week.

Jamil shared his personal journey with us, from his upbringing and early challenges to what fuels his passion for public service today. His openness, sincerity, and drive to make a difference were inspiring.

We appreciated hearing his perspective on the unique challenges facing our region, including youth opportunity, public safety, and economic development. He also gave us an inside look at some of his top priorities for the riding, and how he’s working to be a strong voice for our community in Ottawa.

Thank you, Jamil, for taking the time to connect with us and for your continued service to Durham Region. We look forward to more conversations and collaboration in the future!

Rotary Fieldtrip

With The Bulldog Pub & Grill undergoing renovations, our Rotary meeting took a fun detour to The Fisherman Fish & Chips. A heartfelt thank you to Kyle and his team for welcoming us so warmly, great food and even better company!

We were honoured to host Jacqueline Vieira from the Durham Children’s Aid Foundation as our guest speaker. She shared the incredible impact their team has through programs like Holiday Hope, post-secondary bursaries, and Dream, Dare, Do, all designed to uplift vulnerable youth in our region.

The room was full of fellowship, learning, and laughter, proof that sometimes a change of scenery is just what we need.

We’re incredibly grateful for their recent $1,000 donation to the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation in support of the We Care, We Can Campaign. Their gift helps move us closer to building a hospital that meets the needs of Clarington today - and for generations to come.
