Thank you!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to our end-of-season party last week! It was such a lovely evening of good food, warm company, and celebrating all we grew together this year. We're so grateful for this community.

And now, with the chill setting in, we're officially starting to shut the garden down for the season. Clean-up days will run Wednesdays, 4:30-6:30pm (or until dark), with hot beverages served on the break to keep us cozy.

Come lend a hand if you can, we'd love to see you! Stay tuned, we'll let you know when we're back out in the spring.

Until then, thank you for a wonderful season.

End-of-Season Garden Party!

Thursday, October 8th | 5-7pm | Lake Trail School Community Garden (805 Willemar Ave)

Join us to celebrate the end of the season and soak up the fall colours! We'll break out the art supplies, do some seed collecting, and most of all, connect and celebrate together.

Food, drinks, and a propane fireplace to keep us cozy.

Feel free to bring a treat to share, or just show up and enjoy some food and a bit of community fun!

Cooking Club Facilitator Wanted

We're looking for a facilitator to lead our Cooking Club this semester (4–6 sessions), guiding students through hands-on cooking together. In the new year, we'll be shifting the program into a Dinner Club, introducing meal planning, hosting a meal, and incorporating the garden into the menu — wrapping up with a family dinner night. A small weekly honorarium is provided for club facilitators.

Garden Gnomes update!

We're moving from Thursdays to Wednesdays, 5-7pm at the Lake Trail School Community Garden (805 Willemar Ave). We'll keep going until it gets too cold or too dark!

Everyone welcome. Bring something small to share if you can, otherwise meet us for garden clean-up, fall colours, and the last of the dahlias in bloom.

Happy to announce that the LTCES community garden will be on the Comox Valley Climate Action Day bike tour! Come see what we've been growing and get the lowdown on our rainwater catchment design straight from the Youth Climate Corps (YCCBC) crew who built it.

Grab your bike, bring a friend, and pedal your way through some of Courtenay's coolest green home upgrades.

As our youth programs, drop-ins, and community events continue this school year, LTCES is looking to welcome a new part-time Programmer to the team.

This part-time opportunity puts you at the heart of youth and community programming, working closely with our Executive Director, Healthy Foods & Garden Coordinator, and Lake Trail Community School staff to plan, coordinate, and deliver the programs that make LTCES a neighbourhood hub.

We're looking for someone who cares about community building with youth and families, brings strong written and interpersonal skills, and thrives working independently across a variety of tasks.
