Join us for a special evening celebrating local watershed stewardship and storytelling!

Lake Trail Community School is excited to host a screening of the CBC short documentary A Special Little Fish (directed by Sonya Lee), followed by an exclusive behind-the-lens talk with local cinematographer (and Laketrail alumni) Tiare Boyes. Learn how this incredible film was captured using specialized equipment right here in Morrison Creek.

After the screening, Jan Gemmell, President of the Morrison Creek Streamkeepers, will share insights into the watershed and the inspiring work volunteers are doing to restore and protect this urban creek, home of the Morrison Creek Lamprey.

We’re Hiring!

Join the Lake Trail Community Education Society (LTCES) as our next part-time Healthy Food Coordinator, filling in a temporary contract.

If you’re passionate about food, community, and working with youth, this is a great opportunity to make a real impact. You will lead our healthy food programs, including the weekly salad bar, snack program, food pantry, and special events, through to June 26, 2026.

The position is 13 to 15 hours per week, with additional hours for special events. We are looking for someone with three or more years of food service experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and experience working with volunteers.

FoodSafe certification, access to a vehicle, and a passion for healthy food and community-building are essential. Availability is required Tuesday afternoons and evenings and Wednesdays during the day.

$25.85 per hour
