Comox Valley Hospice Society

Comox Valley Hospice Society Our mission is to ease the journey of dying and grieving, and to support dignity at end of life. The Comox Valley Hospice Society is there to help.

We respectfully acknowledge that the land we gather on is on the Unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation, the traditional keepers of this land. The Comox Valley Hospice Society (CVHS) has been a tangible expression of compassion in the Comox Valley for over 25 years. Our team of dedicated health care professionals and trained volunteers provide palliative health care and support

resources free of charge to people in the Comox Valley who are dying, faced with terminal illness, or faced with the grief of losing a loved one. Together they strive to meet the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of the dying and their families in ways that are sensitive to individual beliefs and cultures. Regardless of the choices we’ve made or the experiences we’ve had, facing the end of life is a certainty for all of us. We’ll likely find ourselves needing to adjust to new situations that feel foreign, difficult and unpleasant. Like other life events we all have in common, we have expectations of what our own experience with dying will be like. We hope that those we love will be around us, and that we’ll feel comfortable, cared for, and at peace. The experience of dying is greatly influenced by the quality of information we have, how prepared we feel, and the support and resources available to us. Please take some time to visit our website and find out more about the programs and services we offer that will help people in our community to live their lives to the fullest.
