Optimist Clubs are not just about holding community events and donating to worthwhile organizations. Optimist Clubs have many purposes and offer many opportunities, one of which is promoting an interest in good government and civic affairs.
On that note, we will be holding (as we do every Municipal Election) a Meet the Candidates event on Tuesday, Sept, 29 at 7 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, Leslie Sutherland Branch 447 - Corunna, Ontario.
If you can't make it on Sept. 29, pop down to visit the Sombra Township Optimist Club on Sept. 16 at 7 pm at the Port Lambton Community Hall.
Come with your questions and hear what the 2026 Candidates have to say about how they hope to shape the future of St. Clair Township.
PURPOSES OF OPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL:
To develop optimism as a philosophy of life utilizing the tenets of the Optimist Creed; To promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs; To inspire respect for the law; To promote patriotism and work for international agreement and friendship among all people; To aid and encourage the development of youth, in the belief that self in service to others will advance the well-being of humankind, community life and the world.
