Our Work

The Cornwall Downtown BIA board is proud to serve over 150 member businesses and bring revitalization efforts to the downtown core. With a focus on beautification and increasing patronage of the downtown, we are dedicated to making Downtown Cornwall a chosen destination for tourists and residents alike. Cornwall’s downtown BIA includes some of our most vibrant local businesses. BIAs come

into existence when local business and property owners join together to improve, promote and undertake projects that will result in a stronger and more appealing commercial area. With the City’s support, they organize, finance and complete local improvements and events. This year, the BIA board intends to participate in a range of activities:

Marketing: We are re-branding the downtown with a fresh, new look and launching a website that will be much easier to navigate and will contain much more up-to-date information. Business recruitment: We hope to work with property owners to ensure that available space is occupied, and that an optimum business and service mix is achieved and maintained. Streetscape improvement and beautification: We will be continuing our downtown lighting program and furniture replacement plan; providing for more customer-friendly lighting, signage, street furniture, planters, banners and sidewalk treatments. Seasonal decorations: We are creating a unique and pleasant environment for customers and staff of all businesses, retail and non-retail, through the use of decorations that are appropriate to the season and holiday. Special events: We will be organizing and partnering in more special events that highlight the unique attributes of the area and increase customer visits. We look forward to continued work to help make our City’s core the most vibrant, welcoming, successful downtown it can be. We welcome your suggestions and input at any time. Downtown Cornwall is looking for a builder! 🛠️

The Artisan Village is taking shape, and we are currently seeking a qualified contractor to construct the official wooden gateway that will serve as the main entrance to the village.

Project Details:

• The Build: A custom wooden gateway structure - timber supplied by Aurra Wood & Co.
• Status: Ready to go! The design is 100% complete and has full engineering approval.
• Contractor Requirements: Must be fully licensed, insured, have current WSIB coverage, and possess experience with structural woodworking.

This is a fantastic opportunity to leave your mark on an exciting community project right here in Downtown Cornwall.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this year’s Night Market so special! ❤️

From our incredible vendors, DJ and downtown businesses to our amazing volunteers and the community members who came out to shop, eat, explore and enjoy the evening, we truly couldn’t have done it without you.

It was so amazing to see downtown Cornwall filled with people, laughter, local shopping and good energy throughout the night. Events like this are only possible because of the support of our local businesses and the community that continues to show up for them.

Thank you for supporting local, shopping small and helping bring downtown Cornwall to life. We’re so grateful for everyone who played a part in making this year’s Night Market one to remember! ✨

The Artisan Village is officially taking shape! 🏗️✨

A massive shout-out to our incredible local partners who helped us tackle some major prep work on the lot this week:

🚜 Vision Landscaping & Design for doing an amazing job levelling and grading the space.

🪨 Demolition Plus for supplying and delivering a massive 40+ tons of gravel to the site.

✍️ Wilson Architectural Design for supporting the project with plans, drawings, and knowledge.

Thanks to their hard work and support, we now have a solid, perfectly prepped foundation ready for the next phase. We are so lucky to have businesses in Cornwall that step up to build our community!
