The River Institute’s 2025 Annual Report is now LIVE on our website!

The report shares impacts of the River Institute’s work over the last year. In 2025, we were excited to highlight some of our innovative approaches to research, education, and engagement – from the construction of a new environmental DNA laboratory and piloting of nature-based solutions for shoreline erosion, to our leadership in collaborative research and creative projects connecting science and art.

Rob’s presentation will explore the historical relationship anglers have on the St. Lawrence River. Then discuss integrating sport anglers into established research programs. The goal is to identify those best suited for research, foster communication between science communities, authorities and the angling community. Then addressing that synergy on a multi-jurisdictional waterway.

How we build relationships, understand requirements and find adaptable solutions to the changing environments where authority, academia and scientific communities can harness the collective knowledge and experience of river anglers, both anecdotal and testimonial. Then enabling angling volunteers to deploy, collect and provide the required information in support of ongoing research efforts.
