Kiwi is one of our long term residents, having been at the shelter for over a year and a half. She's approximately 6 and a half years old. Kiwi is a very sweet cat who loves to find a quiet spot to curl up for a nap. She mostly gets along with the other cats, and even though she's small she doesn't back down when she's confronted! Kiwi has had extensive dental work and unfortunately has developed stomatitis (painful inflammation in her mouth). This is being treated with medication (she may possibly wean off in the future) and an all wet food diet. Fancy Feast is her favourite but she isn't picky! Kiwi would make a great buddy for those lazy nights at home. She is spayed and fully vaccinated.

Some of you may rememeber our post about a sick little kitten named Joey from a couple of months ago. Joey had a tough road ahead of him but he showed that he's a little fighter. He recently got a clean bill of health and is ready for his furever home! Joey is approximately 14 weeks old. He's super playful and is used to kids, dogs, and other cats. He'd love to go to a home with another animal to keep him company. Joey has received his first vaccination and will soon be neutered. He would make a great addition to any family!

🥺 NO LOVE FOR WALNUT? 🐾💔

We can’t believe this beautiful boy is still waiting for his forever home.

Walnut is a young Shepherd mix with so much love to give. At almost a year old, he’s basically an overgrown puppy — goofy, energetic, affectionate, and still learning his manners. He needs someone willing to put a little time into working with him, but we truly believe Walnut has incredible potential to become an amazing companion.

Walnut absolutely loves attention from his humans! Long walks, adventures, playing fetch, running around — if you’re looking for an active buddy to experience life with, Walnut would love to be by your side❤️

He enjoys other dogs, although his enthusiasm can sometimes be a little much for certain canine friends. A home without cats, small dogs or young children would be the best fit for him.

Walnut is approximately 60 lbs, neutered and fully vaccinated.

All this handsome boy needs is someone to give him a chance🥹 We know his person is out there — please help us find them by sharing his post! 🐾❤️

If you feel Walnut would be the perfect addition to your family, please send us an adoption application https://sites.google.com/view/nlwestspca/adoption-application

Unfortunately, there was another cat killed last night in the Broadway area. Sadly this black and white cat has been posted several times hanging around the businesses on Broadway, but people are always reluctant to call Animal Control. It's not safe for animals to roam and there have been a high number killed by vehicles lately in Corner Brook.

Owners, please do better, keep your precious pets safe!!! And for the people who post the roaming animals on social media, we urge you to please contact Animal Control. You might be saving it's life!

Penny recently came to the shelter after being found living outdoors. She's approximately 7 and a half years old. Penny is the ultimate lap cat; she will stay there all day long and actually gets a little upset if you try to get up before she's ready. She's very affectionate and loves attention. She's also still very playful; she loves hiding in tunnels and batting at wand toys. Unfortunately she doesn't get along with other cats so would do best in a home by herself. Penny is spayed and has received her first vaccination.

If you're interested in adopting Penny, please fill out an adoption application at https://sites.google.com/view/nlwestspca/adoption-application
