This is just the beginning.

This weekend brought together Laurie from Tea Creek , Dixon from Ntamtqen Community Garden and Food Hub , and Rumy from Ayapacha | Seed to Soul — three organizations connected through the growing Indigenous Food Sovereignty Association network.

Over a few days at Ntamtqen, we preserved food, shared knowledge, cooked together, and spent time imagining what more collaboration between our communities and organizations could look like.

These gatherings may start small, but the relationships and knowledge built through them can travel much further.

That’s part of what we hope to grow through IFSA: a stronger network where Indigenous communities, organizations, and food sovereignty leaders can learn from one another, share what they know, and support work already happening on the ground.

Thank you to Ntamtqen Community Garden and Food Hub for welcoming us, and to everyone who spent time learning and sharing with us this weekend.

We’re excited to see where this goes.

Last time, we asked a few people what these gatherings meant to them.

This is what they had to say.

We’re gathering again this weekend at Ntamtqen Community Garden and Food Hub

Starting with our Community BBQ this Saturday at 4 PM.

Come share a meal with us.

Land-to-Table workshop details for Sunday + Monday coming shortly. 🌱

Some weekends don’t make it to the camera the way you hoped they would.

But the food made it to the table, the team showed up, and over 120 people got to experience what we’ve been working so hard to build.

That means a lot more to me.

Thank you to everyone who had a hand in this one — our team, our growers and suppliers, and everyone who trusted us to be part of such an important day.

Really proud of this one 🙏🏽

Hard not to feel grateful this time of year.

Summer brings such an abundance of local produce, and for this dinner we got to work with vegetables from some of our local farms, along with a few things picked straight from the garden.

There’s something really special about cooking this close to the season and letting what’s available shape the meal.

Grateful to the land, the people who grow our food, and everyone who gathered around the table with us.

Our first dinner together. Looking forward to more 🙌🏽

A weekend built around good food, good people, and a shared purpose.

Over the last few days, we harvested from the garden, preserved what was abundant, cooked together, and gathered around the table with the community.

Meals like these don’t happen because of one person. They happen because many people show up—growing, harvesting, preparing, teaching, and sharing their time with one another.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, lent a hand, and made this weekend what it was.

We’re grateful to continue building relationships through food and look forward to the next time we gather together. 🌿

This weekend we will be joining the community at Ntamtqten for a few days of harvesting, preserving, cooking, and sharing a meal together.

It’s a reminder that food has always been about more than what’s on the plate. It’s an opportunity to slow down, learn from one another, and reconnect with the people and the land that make every meal possible.

If you’re in the area, we’d love to have you join us for the community BBQ and workshops. Come spend the day with us.

See you this weekend!

Really looking forward to being back at Ntamtqen Community Garden this weekend!

Over the next few days we’ll be harvesting what’s in season, sharing land-to-table food skills, preserving the harvest, and bringing everyone together for a community BBQ.

This collaboration is rooted in something we both care deeply about: good food, shared knowledge, and stronger communities.

Whether you’re joining us for a workshop, lending a hand in the garden, or stopping by for a meal, we’d love to see you there.

See you this weekend. 🙌🏽
