Minnekhada Park Association

Minnekhada Park Association We are a volunteer organization which endeavors to bring to the larger public, the unique beauty and setting of Minnekhada Regional Park.

In partnership with Metro Vancouver, we are working at preserving and enhancing this natural environment. Park trails fan out from the large Quarry Road parking lot. From Lougheed Highway in Coquitlam, turn north on Coast Meridian and travel 2.5 km to Victoria Drive. Follow Victoria Drive for 1 km to the crest of the hill and make a deliberate left turn to stay on Victoria. Travel northeast for 3.

5 km to the park entrance on Quarry Road. To get to Minnekhada Lodge from Quarry Road, turn right on Gilley's Trail. Turn left onto Oliver Road which leads to the park and the lodge (parking is limited).

TOADLET WATCH.
It is coming up to toadlet watch time. If you are in the park, please let us know if you see toadlets on trail. Items to note: 1) DO NOT TOUCH the toadlets. 2) Keep dogs on leash. 3) Please watch your step. If toadlets are plentiful, consider taking a different route to avoid trampling.

National Volunteer Week runs from April 19-25, 2026 and we at Minnekhada Park Association couldn't be more grateful for the wonderful work of all of our volunteers. Many volunteer countless hours counting toadlets, removing invasive species, filling positions on our Board, cleaning bat guano, counting bats and more.
We could not do what we do without their enthusiasm, commitment and dedication to environmental stewardship.
Thank you doesn't seem like enough but... THANK YOU!

Minnekhada now has data loggers in our bat condo! A few weeks ago, volunteers installed the devices in our bat condo at the farm. Data loggers are used for monitoring bat habitats, specifically to record temperature and humidity within roosts and bat boxes. These devices are critical for studying the micro-climate preferences of bats and assessing the effectiveness of artificial roost structures. Over the coming weeks, we will revisit the loggers and see what the data says!

ATTENTION PHOTOGRAPHERS! Our 2026 Minnekhada As Muse photography project is now OPEN for registration!

This year, we endeavor to expand on last year’s inaugural photography Muse project which was very successful. This year our goal is to deepen, expand and enhance people’s connection, appreciation and knowledge to/of nature directly and indirectly, particularly at Minnekhada – through using photography as the creative vehicle, in combination with social media to tell a story.
