A powerful statement from Canadian bishops on the 10th anniversary of legalized euthanasia in the country. And I’m happy to see that they’ve referenced one of my recent stories in the BC Catholic.

I personally think that only a patient should be allowed to raise the subject; a medical person raising the subject sends a strong, non-life-affirming message to a patient who, most likely, is already very vulnerable. The case I discuss in my latest story is yet another example of why it's wrong for a doctor or nurse to initiate the subject.
