Stevie the Wonder Puppy ❤️
Imagine being born into a world of darkness — a world that already feels cold and unwelcoming. A place where nobody wants you simply because you’re different. Because blind puppies are often overlooked, unwanted, and left behind.
Poor Stevie didn’t have the best start in life. She was the puppy nobody wanted — the blind puppy nobody chose. But to us, like every animal we rescue, she had value. She deserved love, safety, and a chance.
When we were asked, “Nobody wants her. We can’t keep her. Can you take her?” our answer was easy.
Of course we said yes.
And that was the beginning of Stevie the Wonder Puppy’s journey with us.
Since bringing Stevie into our care, we’ve been working with an optometrist who will be evaluating her next month when he visits the Province. We’re hopeful there may be something that can help improve her vision, but we also understand the reality that she may remain blind. No matter the outcome, it won’t change how loved she is.
Right now, Stevie is staying with a wonderful foster while we continue learning about her medical needs. She’s already seen the vet, received her vaccinations and deworming, and is doing all the regular puppy things.
We’re making sure she has everything she needs to thrive — including a special harness and leash (on order) and even stairs to help her safely climb onto the bed… because of course that’s exactly where she belongs.
And she’s doing amazingly well.
Stevie is incredibly smart, brave, and full of love. Every day she learns a little more, trusts a little deeper, and reminds us that being different never makes a life worth any less.
We love her very much, and we can’t wait to watch her future unfold.
