A CASI Legend in its truest form, we are pumped to welcome Stu Bott into the Hall of Fame! Stu’s commitment to developing the sport of snowboarding long pre-dates CASI when he saw a need for alpine race coaching in the early 90’s. He worked with Canada Snowboard when it was in its infancy to develop coaching programs and was soon after hired by our original Executive Director, Dan Genge, to aid in the development of the Canadian Snowboard Coaching Program and eventually the first Level 2 Freestyle and Race courses. He taught Level 1 and 2 courses before the Level 3 and 4 existed, and was a member of the CASI Technical Committee for many years. Stu has lead courses in all but 2 Provinces and one of the most memorable was at Stoney Mountain in Manitoba where candidates didn’t even bother to unstrap to board the 90’ long rope tow! His devotion to CASI and snowboarding led him to ultimately become the Domestic Program Coordinator with Canada Snowboard, where he continued to develop coaching programs, athlete development and aid in the planning of National Champs and Nor-Am events. Major thanks from CASI for everything Stu has done for our sport and association.
