Look who decided to move in rent-free! 🦦

Huge thanks to one of our amazing community members for sharing these with us, we just couldn’t keep them to ourselves. From expert hunting to comfortable lounging, this little otter is officially running the dock now.

On August 22, volunteers are invited to join NVCA, the Escarpment Biosphere Conservancy, Wyldwood Cove Condos, and the Town of Collingwood for a community phragmites removal event.

Invasive phragmites can spread quickly, crowding out native plants and reducing habitat along the shoreline. Removing these invasive plants helps create space for native vegetation and supports healthier shoreline ecosystems.

This is a hands-on opportunity to get outdoors, connect with the community and help care for the natural spaces that make Collingwood special.

🌱 Volunteer date: August 22
📍 Location: Collingwood

Bring your enthusiasm for conservation and be ready to get your hands dirty!

“Water is Life. Let’s Protect It.” (Canada Ocean Racing) 🌊⛵️

Scott Shawyer is a strong supporter of the Watershed Trust. He’s training for a round-the-world sailing race right here in Collingwood. Scott and the Trust share the same mission: protecting the waters that connect us all, from our local streams to the open ocean.

Scott is turning our shared mission into action on a global stage. Training on Georgian Bay, he’s preparing for the world’s toughest solo sailing challenge: the Vendée Globe. Sailing under a ‘Water Positive’ banner, Scott will embark on an epic, non-stop, unassisted three-month race around the globe, pushing the limits on his 60-foot foiling boat.

Let’s wish him fair winds, smooth seas, and every success, both in his extraordinary voyage and our shared mission to protect water! 🇨🇦
