🎿🎯 What a night!

We came for Toastmasters and somehow ended up trying biathlon — including optical ri**es! Turns out, trying something new is even more fun when you do it together.

Our Toastmasters members and guests took on new challenges, both in speaking and in biathlon. We were especially happy to welcome Collingwood Councilor Ian MacCulloch, who joined the fun, tried the activities, and had some great practical conversations with us.

A little speaking. A little biathlon. A lot of fun! 😄

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this such a memorable evening! 🎤🎿🎯

🎯 THE LIBRARY HAS TARGETS.
🎿 WE HAVE SKIS.
🎤 AND SOMEHOW, WE ALSO HAVE TOASTMASTERS.

Something unusual is happening at Collingwood Toastmasters on October 1.

We're hosting the Highlands Trailblazers Community Cross Country Skiing and Biathlon Club for a special biathlon presentation and Open House.

You'll learn how biathlon combines cross-country skiing with precision target shooting — and you'll even get to try an optical biathlon r***e.

And before anyone gets nervous about the library part — these are optical ri**es designed for safe indoor biathlon demonstrations. 🎯

Interested in biathlon? Or are you a parent or grandparent whose child or grandchild might be interested? Come out and learn more about this unique sport from people who are involved in it.

And since it's an Open House, don't come alone!

Bring your friends, bring your neighbours, and bring along someone who keeps saying, “I should try something new.”

Guests are welcome at all our meetings, but this particular evening is something special.

📅 Thursday, October 1, 2026
🕕 6:00 PM – 7:45 PM
📍 Collingwood Public Library — 3rd Floor

Come for the biathlon. Try the optical r***e. Meet some interesting people. And maybe discover Toastmasters along the way! 🎿🎯

🎉 What a night! 🎂

Yesterday, Collingwood Toastmasters celebrated 45 years of helping people find their voice, and we did it in style. 😎

The evening featured awards recognizing member achievements, birthday cake worthy of a 45th anniversary, Table Topics pulled from popped balloons (because picking topics from a hat is apparently too easy after 45 years), and a hilarious round of the "And Then..." storytelling game that proved our members and guests are creative, quick-thinking, and occasionally delightfully unpredictable.

Most importantly, we celebrated the people who have made our club such a welcoming and supportive community over the years! Thank you all! 🙏

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special milestone. Here's to 45 years of speeches, laughter, leadership, friendship, and many more stories that start with "And then..."

Guests are always welcome at our meetings on the first and third Thursday of each month. Come see what we're all about!

🎉 Collingwood Toastmasters turns 45 today! 🎉

That's 45 years of speeches, evaluations, Table Topics, nervous first timers, confident communicators, and the occasional speaker discovering halfway through a speech what the speech was actually about.

Join us as we celebrate this milestone at a meeting today, Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Collingwood Public Library (3rd floor meeting room).

Guests are always welcome! Whether you're looking to improve your public speaking, boost your confidence, sharpen your leadership skills, or simply find out why people voluntarily stand up and talk in front of a room full of strangers, we'd love to meet you.

For 45 years we've helped people find their voice. Come discover yours!

Democracy was alive and well at Collingwood Toastmasters last night! 🎉

After a highly sophisticated election process involving nominations, "chocolate with quote" Table Topics, and a speech, we proudly elected our 2026–2027 Club Executive Team.

Beginning July 1, our newly elected officers will take the helm for the next Toastmasters year, helping guide our club through another year of speeches, evaluations, leadership growth, and occasional battles with the Ah-Counter. Toastmasters club officer terms run from July 1 to June 30 each year.

Congratulations to our new executive team! We wish them courage, wisdom, and the ability to answer unexpected Table Topics questions without breaking a sweat.

Please join us in congratulating this outstanding group of leaders! 👏
