They say there’s no better way to say goodbye to a photographer than to showcase the world through the way they saw it.

We’re deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Jacques Giard yesterday.

Jacques was a wonderful supporter of Ducks Unlimited and a true friend of the outdoors. Through his photography, he captured the beauty of nature, wildlife, and the places we all cherish.

Today, we say goodbye by remembering the incredible moments he captured and the passion he shared with so many of us.

Thank you, Jacques for sharing your view of the world with us. Your photographs will continue to tell your story for years to come.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest easy, Jacques.

Seems we have a rare visitor this migratory season a 1 in 30,000 Leucistic or Light Morph Canada Goose ! This condition causes a partial loss of pigmentation, giving the goose a washed-out, blonde, or white appearance. According to Cornell Lab of Ornithology, this genetic anomaly occurs in approximately roughly 0.0033% of the population.

It’s Mike Schroeder here .. I’ve been the organizer of The Kentville Duck and Run for the last 4 years.. it’s been a pleasure to see it grow from 21 to almost 140 people today all out supporting conservation and enjoying what Miners Marsh has to offer !

We had runners from across Nova Scotia and University students from afar
