🌟 A Heartfelt Thank You to the Coldbrook Girl Guides! 🌟

The Coldbrook and District Lions Club would like to extend our sincere thanks to the members of the Coldbrook Girl Guides for their incredible efforts some of which even organized a food drive to support our Community Food Cubbboard.

As part of their evening, the girls learned about food insecurity and the challenges faced by individuals and families who may struggle to put food on the table. They then put that learning into action by collecting and donating food items that helped fill our pantry shelves and support those in need within our community.

Their generosity, compassion, and commitment to helping others demonstrate the true spirit of community service. The donations they gathered will help ensure that our Community Food Cupboard remains stocked and available to anyone who may need a helping hand.

We would also like to thank the families, leaders, and community members who supported the food drive and contributed to its success.

Together, we are making a difference and showing that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a lasting impact.

Last night, Wednesday May 13th, was a truly special evening at the Lions Hall for the Coldbrook and District Lions Club.
We were honored to welcome members from several of the Valley Health foundations,, along with representatives from the Coldbrook Community Association, as we proudly presented donation cheques ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 in support of healthcare and community initiatives across our region.
Donations to the local health foundations were as follow

$10,000 donations to
Digby and Area Health Services Charitable Foundation
Annapolis West Health Foundation
Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation - Middleton
Western Kings Memorial Health Foundation
Eastern Kings Memorial Health Foundation
Hants Community Hospital Foundation

$25,000 donations to
Valley Regional Health Foundation
Coldbrook Community Association - Pickle Ball Court Project

In total, an incredible $110,000 was given back into our healthcare system and local community through the work of Lions volunteers, fundraising events, and community support initiatives.

This is what Lions are all about — neighbours helping neighbours and communities supporting communities.

Thank you to everyone who supports our events particularly, Valley Lions Radio Bingo, Valley Drive In Bingo, Valley drive in Theater and my many other projects, and fundraisers throughout the year. Your support makes nights like this possible and allows us to continue making a meaningful difference across the Annapolis Valley.
