Partnering with Walmart for food recovery is critical to serving our community. We average over 400 kg of fresh, frozen, dairy, meat, and non-perishable items from them every week!

To keep this vital program running, we need volunteers to help pick up and process donations two days a week.

If you have a couple of hours to spare a week or even a month, and want to make a big impact in Cold Lake, send us a message or reach out to get on the schedule!

Thank you to Kathrin Shaffer and her new initiative, The Birthday Project, for supplying our clients with birthday kits! 🎉🎂🎈

These amazing kits are filled with party decor, spatulas, and cake mix - no extra ingredients needed because everything is included.

Kathrin isn't the only one getting creative, either; we’ve been fortunate to receive many birthday packages from our community members to help celebrate local kids! Thank you for your commitment to bettering the lives of those around us.

Did you know that nearly 40% of our clientele are children? With school breakfast and lunch programs paused, keeping kids fed at home means our shelves are emptying faster than ever.

Our list highlights our most critically needed items right now from kid-friendly snacks and staples to diapers and birthday supplies.

This Wednesday, keep an eye out for the Cold Lake Food Bank’s Canada Day Parade Float...which is completely Christmas-themed!

Why Christmas in July? 🎄 Everyone thinks about donating during the holidays, but hunger doesn't take a summer vacation. Across the country and right here in Cold Lake, food bank usage is up, and needs remain high year-round.

Whether it's a food donation or a financial gift, your support matters as much in the summer as it does in December.

We can't wait to see everyone out at the parade!

We are looking for volunteers to help with our weekday morning food recovery program. This is a crucial role that ensures fresh, donated bread gets from local stores (like Sobeys) straight to our shelves!

You can commit to just one shift per week or even one per month! This task could be perfect for a retired couple looking to get out, be active, and give back to the community.

It's just 1 to 2 hours per shift (there is a shift every day), and personal vehicle use is required.

As Canada Day approaches, we wanted to remind everyone that we are open for client services from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM. 🍁

While school schedules and office hours change for the summer, our commitment to Cold Lake stays exactly the same. Hunger doesn’t stop just because it's a holiday, and neither do we.

We are open through all summer holidays to make sure our community stays fed, safe, and supported.
