Got a junk drawer overflowing with random note pads? 📝

You know the ones - they come in the mail from companies, you pick them up at tradeshows, or you find them at the bottom of gift bags. Instead of letting them gather dust, consider donating them to the local food bank!

They are incredibly handy for our volunteers to utilize while serving our community.

Let’s clear out that clutter for a great cause - connect with us to donate!

The Cold Lake 664 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron recently held their Fill-a-Bus Day Foodraiser, and the results are simply wonderful!

Thanks to their hard work and the incredible generosity of our community, they raised:
📦 More than 200 kg of food to help stock our shelves!
💰 More than $500 in monetary donations to support our programs!

Seeing young leaders step up to make such a tangible difference in Cold Lake is truly inspiring. These donations come at a crucial time as we head into the busy summer months and continue working hard to keep our neighbors fed.

To the cadets, organizers, and everyone who stopped by the bus to drop off a donation: Thank you! You are the perfect example of community spirit in action.

So proud of our Connie!

So proud of our Connie!

Today we’re proud to shout out to two incredible individuals whose dedication and compassion strengthen food banking in Alberta every day.

Congratulations to Maddy LeBlanc of Helping Hands of Grande Prairie, recipient of the 2026 FBA Client Champion Award. Maddie’s years of volunteer service, kindness toward pantry visitors, and leadership in helping expand local food bank support have made a lasting impact in her community. Her professionalism, reliability, and unwavering commitment ensure every client is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

We also recognize Constance Mcleod “Connie” McLeod of the Cold Lake Food Bank, recipient of this year’s Long-Term Service Award. With more than a decade of leadership, governance, and hands-on volunteer work, Connie has been a driving force behind the organization’s growth and continued success. From guiding the organization at the board level to contributing countless volunteer hours each month, Connie exemplifies long-term dedication to addressing food insecurity in Alberta.

Thank you both for your extraordinary commitment to supporting Albertans experiencing food insecurity.

Help Our Summer Staff Stay Cool!

Our summer student positions are starting up, and we want to make sure our team stays cool, comfortable, and focused while they work hard for our community this season!

We are currently seeking donations of a few gently used (or new) office items to help beat the summer heat:

🪑 1 to 2 Ergonomic Office Chairs
💨 1 to 2 Office Fans

If you have upgraded your home office recently or have extra equipment clearing out at your workspace that you’d like to donate, we would be incredibly grateful to take it off your hands.

Thank you for helping us take care of the team that helps take care of Cold Lake!

When people think of a food bank, they often picture the shelves full of food. But behind every full shelf is a dedicated team of volunteers who do the heavy lifting...quite literally.

Today, we want to give a massive shout-out to a very specific group of rockstars we depend on every single week.

We don't currently have a bay door at our facility. That means every single pallet, box, and heavy crate of donations has to be unloaded and hauled into the building hand by hand, item by item. It is exhausting, back-breaking, and unglamorous work. Yet, these incredible individuals:
- Show up at a moment's notice when a last-minute delivery arrives.
- Roll up their sleeves and tackle the hardest physical labor without a single complaint.
- And right after finishing the heavy lifting, they stick around, switch gears, and jump right into their client service shifts with a smile.

Our operations simply wouldn't run without your grit, your flexibility, and your massive hearts. To the heavy-lifters, and the last-minute lifesavers, you keep our doors open and our community fed.

Looking for a way to get outside and give back this season?

Whether you have a massive garden plot or just a few pots on your balcony, you can help us stock our shelves with fresh, local produce!

What to plant? 🍅 We accept all types of garden produce! Potatoes, carrots, leafy greens, tomatoes - if you can grow it, we can use it.

Keep it natural! 🥔We actually prefer receiving your harvest unwashed. Leaving the soil on helps keep the produce fresh longer until it reaches our clients' kitchens.

Need seeds? 🌱 Stop by and see us! We may have seeds available if you have the space but need the supplies to get started.

Sponsor a row! 👨‍🌾 If you already have your seeds, consider sponsoring a specific section of your garden dedicated entirely to the Food Bank.

Let’s grow something great together this year.
Every extra tomato or potato makes a difference!
