New equipment in Cold Lake is helping patients recover safely and regain independence closer to home.

The new specialized rehabilitation equipment was donated by Hearts for Healthcare to support allied health services at the Cold Lake Healthcare Centre.

The donation includes a bariatric wheelchair and transfer board, shoulder slings for stroke patients, and BlazePod training equipment to support balance, coordination and reaction time.

“We are incredibly grateful for this equipment and the positive impact it will have on our ability to provide patient care in Cold Lake,” says Adele Richardson, Rural Lead, Edmonton Rural Corridor-Northeast.

Hearts for Healthcare donated more than $6,500 to help bring the new equipment to local patients.

❤️ Wellness Raffle Spotlight

Every Wellness Raffle ticket helps enhance healthcare close to home.

This year's proceeds will support new equipment for the Allied Health Rehab Department, benefiting patients in acute care, long-term care, and outpatient physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Funds will also help provide specialized mattresses for Acute Care, improving patient comfort and care.

Together, these investments will help healthcare teams continue providing the best possible care to patients in our community.
