Why Pride Month Matters in Libraries?

Ensuring Visible Representation: Displays and reading lists ensure 2SLGBTQI+ individuals see their own lived experiences reflected on library shelves.
Upholding Intellectual Freedom: Highlighting q***r literature directly counters censorship and book challenges that disproportionately target diverse stories.
Providing Crucial Resources: Public libraries offer safe, free access to life-saving health, legal, and community support resources for q***r youth and adults.
Fostering Inclusive Community: Hosting inclusive programming builds a sense of belonging and helps neighbors connect with, understand, and learn from one another.
Preserving Q***r History: Libraries archive the history of the pride movement, keeping the struggles, triumphs, and stories of local activists alive for future generations.
