Coe Hill Riders ATV Club – Raises funds for Limerick Township Fire Department

On Saturday June 6th, the Coe Hill Riders (CHATV) held their first ATV charity ride of the season, dedicated to the Limerick Township Fire Department. This charity ride was planned and held in conjunction with the Township’s Fire Smart Day. In total there were 24 machines and 39 riders who participated in the ride and CHATV was very pleased that 10 new participants joined us for the ride.

Registration opened at 8 am, and participants received their wrist band, water and snacks. Event’s Coordinator, Norm Lewis outlined how the ride would be managed with the assistance of a dedicated team of ride wardens. The group left shortly after 9 am and returned shortly after 1:30 pm.

Although it seemed that rain was threatening, luckily it held off until after the group returned to the Limerick Municipal site where Fire Chief Greg Maxwell and his crew of volunteer firefighters served up delicious burgers, hotdogs, and fries to the riders. The door and raffle prizes were distributed after lunch.

Through registration fees and raffle sales, the charity ride raised a total of $2,535 for the Limerick Firemen’s Auxiliary.

The Coe Hill Riders board of directors’ wants to thank all the local individuals and businesses that donate generous prizes for our events. For this ride, these included: Bancroft Cottage Rentals, Bear Ridge Campground, Donnelly Construction, Essentially Essentials, Cindy & Michael Fuerth, Scott Lebeau, Limerick Lake Lodge, Limerick Township, Limerick Fire Department, Lisa McMaster, Red Eagle Family Campground, and Coe Hill Riders.

We also appreciate the warm welcome from all the volunteers at Limerick Township who organized this event and we thank all CHATV volunteers who make these rides possible.

The club’s next charity ride is scheduled for August 15th, in partnership with Anstruther Marina and will raise funds for the North Kawartha Food Bank.
