This is the third year for the Community Tree Fruit Round-Up organized by the Town of Cochrane. If you have fruit trees in your yard you may want to take advantage of this initiative to harvest and collect surplus fruit to reduce wildlife attractants in the community.
All collected fruit will be donated to feed animals at the Cochrane Ecological Society or to feed humans (clean, picked fruit only) through several local organizations.
Note the new drop off location is at the Operations shop parking lot at 124 Griffin Road. Volunteers will help make sure every piece goes where it is needed most.
🍏 Fresh-picked fruit → local food security organizations
🍐 Fallen fruit → Cochrane Ecological Institute, to feed injured & orphaned animals in care
📅 Saturday, Aug. 22 | 🕛 12–3 p.m. | 📍 124 Griffin Road
Your backyard fruit could support a neighbour or wildlife in care! 🌳🍎
If you have fruit trees, now is the time to check what is ripening, pick what you can and pass along the extra.
This Saturday, drop your donations at the Operations shop parking lot at 124 Griffin Road. Volunteers will help make sure every piece goes where it is needed most.
