MAYOR'S OFFICE: Flags across the municipality have been lowered to half-staff in honour of the passing of former Fire Chief, Henry “Harry” Greer.
Former Chief Greer passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the age of 97, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of service to the Cobourg community.
“Chief Greer helped guide the Fire Department through a significant period of growth and modernization,” said Mayor Lucas Cleveland. “Over nearly four decades, he earned the deep respect of his colleagues and the community he proudly served. His dedication, leadership, and passion for firefighting helped shape the department we know today. We extend our sincere condolences to his loved ones and are grateful for his immense service to our community.”
