With heartfelt sadness, we remember Jean Young, a passionate community leader and founding force behind Town and Country Support Services, established in Wingham in 1978.

Over 34 years of dedicated service, Jean helped build an organization rooted in the needs of rural communities, ensuring people could age safely and comfortably in their own homes.

Her vision helped shape the foundation of the organization we know today as ONE CARE. Her legacy lives on through the care, connection and support we continue to provide across Huron and Perth Counties.

🫖✨ One week ago today, we gathered for a little magic, a lot of heart, and an afternoon to remember.

Our Apothecary Afternoon Tea was made special by the people who brought it to life, and we couldn’t let the occasion pass without saying thank you.

To everyone who joined us, shared in the experience, and helped make the afternoon so memorable — thank you for being part of it.

To the team working behind the scenes, from the planning to all the little details that made the event feel magical, your hard work made it possible.

To our wonderful volunteers, who have both been generously giving their time to ONE CARE for many years, thank you for continuing to show up for our community in such a meaningful way. 💜

And to the talented vendors who joined us for our mini maker’s market, thank you for sharing your creations, your passion, and your magic with us.

It takes a community to bring something like this to life, and we’re so grateful for every person who played a part in making our Apothecary Afternoon Tea so special. Your generosity helped us raise over $2,000 towards our Driven to Care campaign!

Meals on Wheels is more than a meal ❤️

It’s nourishment, connection and a familiar face at the door. It helps people live independently at home and offers reassurance to families and caregivers.

To mark the start of Meals on Wheels Week during Community Support Month, we’re proud to launch a new video featuring the clients and volunteers at the heart of this essential service.

Their stories show why Meals on Wheels deserves recognition and sustained investment. As demand grows, reliable funding and a strong network of staff and volunteers are essential to reaching the people who need support. Investing in Meals on Wheels helps people stay well at home and can help prevent avoidable hospital visits and delay the need for long-term care.
