On June 1, BC's minimum wage will increase to $18.25 per hour; a 2.1% increase tied to last year's average inflation rate.

Attached is a member explainer that breaks down what's changing, why small businesses are concerned, and what the real cost impact looks like beyond the 40-cent hourly increase. It covers the wage ladder effect, hidden payroll costs (CPP, EI, WorkSafeBC premiums), and the compounding pressure of the upcoming PST expansion on October 1.

This upgrade will help us run greener, paper‑light meetings and improve how we share information with our members 🌿💼

👉DRIPA update for Clearwater businesses

On April 8, 2026 the Province paused some elements of the Declaration of Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) to allow courts to clarify whether alignment with UNDRIP should occur immediately or over time. “This creates uncertainty around permitting, timelines, and how to engage with First Nations to move projects forward.” — BC Chamber member briefing, April 8, 2026.
