Scouts are revved up and ready to roll! 🚗💨

Tonight, they kicked off building their Scout trucks at the high school workshop. Starting with just some blocks of wood and a set of instructions, these youth are turning simple materials into something uniquely their own.

With guidance from leaders and parent volunteers, they’re learning new skills, getting creative, and putting their ideas into motion—one cut, sand, and design at a time.

We can’t wait to see these trucks hit the track at the upcoming rally! 🏁

What do you think their designs will look like? 👀

✨ Community + Creativity = Something Beautiful ✨

Our Scout group is excited to be selling tickets on this stunning quilt, lovingly made by our youth who are heading to Switzerland this July🇨🇭

This project became even more special thanks to the incredible support and guidance from the Clarenville Seniors quilting group. Their time, skills, and kindness helped bring this quilt to life, and we are so grateful to have such a wonderful community behind us 💛

Together, generations came side by side to create something truly meaningful—and now one lucky person will get to take it home!

🪡The quilt is a queen size. 68.5” x 94”

🎟️ Tickets are just $2 each
📅 Draw date: April 15

The Random Island Beavers put their science hats on tonight! 🧪🦫

They worked on their Scientific Beaver Badge by testing sink or float, learning all about buoyancy and density.

Then it was time for a boat-building challenge! 🚤 Using tissue paper, paper, and tin foil, the Beavers designed boats and tested which one could float the best and carry the most “logs.” 🌲

After a few soggy experiments and some sinking ships 😄, the Beavers decided that tin foil was the clear winner for floating and carrying weight!

Future engineers in the making! 👏

What is the Outdoor Adventure Skills Program?

The Outdoor Adventure Skills program is an invitation for Scouts to try something new—to be outside more, testing themselves with progressive challenges while remaining within their capabilities to stay safe. In short, it’s about having life-changing experiences.

Each Outdoor Adventure Skills pathway is divided into nine stages with a badge awarded for each stage; however, the purpose of the OAS program is not the badge. Rather, the Outdoor Adventure Skills should be seen as tools to support the Plan-Do-Review process—for example, organizing an activity that matches the level of skills that the participants have, or evaluating the amount of growth a person experienced in a particular skill set they wanted to expand on.
