๐ Bernie Sisk Memorial International Tournament โ A Day to Remember!
On Saturday, September 27th, NBMC New Brunswick Multicultural Council / Conseil multiculturel du N.-B. proudly hosted the Annual Bernie Sisk Memorial International Tournament right here in Chipman!
This year, we welcomed 5 amazing teams, representing 17 different nationalities.
Players and their families traveled from across the province : Saint-Quentin, Moncton, Fredericton, Sussex, and more - with some driving over 4 hours one way just to be part of the tournament. We had: Moncton Team, Latino Team, Christian Life Center Team (Chipman), Brazilian Team (Grand Lake), Saint-Quentin Team.
We were thrilled to host member of AMINA Diana Machakova, our NBMC partners, and Gaspard Noumy, the Projct Lead in ImagineNB. We were excited to welcome the Sisk family, who joined us on the field to play, cheer, support, and congratulate our athletes with medals and trophies.
The day was filled with energy, competition, and community spirit, including a fun skills competition where one player from each team faced off in: a Juggling Contest, the Knockdown Challenge, the Crossbar Challenge.
Though the matches were intended to be friendly, unfortunately, we did experience a few injuries. Weโre incredibly grateful for the quick action and support of the paramedics, who were there to assist. We hope all injured players are recovering well!
And of course โ congratulations to our winners!

The tournament ended on a heartwarming note with friendship, camaraderie, a few sore muscles, and singing anthems together. It was a true celebration of sport, culture, and connection.
๐ THANK YOU to all the players, families, spectators, volunteers, and professionals who made this day possible. Weโre especially grateful to everyone who helped create such a welcoming and spirited atmosphere.
