One of our favorite things about summer is spending time at camp wegesegum. Usually we post throughout the summer as we go but this time we thought we would do a photo dump!

Our Firefighters are really all just big kids themselves and want to attend camp 😉

Water fights and foot races and fire safety education. We love our partnership with Camp Wegesegum

Grand Lake Chipman Station beat the heat tonight ! Because of the heat advisory training plans had to switch up.

The members had no problem switching gears to some drafting pumping and hose work!

Chipman Station Members took the evening to the park and did some technical rescue training.

It was a good training training night from repelling to building systems. Members got to practice on different aspects of technical rescue.

After spending all weekend in a hazmat course our dedicated members came back and spend several hours doing trucks checks and maintenance on the hall.

So of course we fed them some burgers and dogs!

The municipality is very lucky to have such hard working dedicated individuals to give up their nights and weekends to train to be ready and keep the equipment ready for any emergencies that may come.

PUBLIC AWARENESS BULLETIN - NB FIRE MARSHALL
RE: Fire Blankets

This product is NOT recommended by the NB Fire Marshall.
- They are not UL Certified
- There are currently no Canadian Safety Regulations for this product
- They may provide a false sense of security for home owners.

Although blankets used by Fire Departments are effective, the Fire Marshall's office does not recommend them at this time for use by consumers.

Two days ago on February 14th Chipman station responded to an MVA call where a Train collided with an SUV.

Arriving on scene firefighters worked quickly with paramedics to extricate and load the patients for transport.

It was because of the weekly trainings and good partnerships with local ANB paramedics that this call was executed so quickly. The crew from CN on scene were extremely helpful digging paths through the snow as responders had to climb up snow covered hills to get to the ambulances.

Weekly training and team work between agencies make all the difference at calls like these.

Chipman members got back to the basics tonight with some SCBA /Confined space training. Newer Members wore blacked out face masks and got comfortable staying low and maneuvering through small spaces following hose lines and communicating with each other with no visibility.
