Your support of MCC Thrift helps communities in times of crisis. 🌍

After devastating flash flooding in Nepal, MCC is working with local partners to provide emergency relief to affected communities. Support includes food, clean water supplies, hygiene and dignity kits, bedding, clothing and psychosocial care, alongside ongoing recovery efforts.

Every donation, purchase and volunteer hour at MCC Thrift helps support local and global projects through MCC, including emergency response when communities need it most.

Thank you for helping turn thrift into meaningful support around the world. 💚

Volunteer Highlight: Pete! 🧡

With Thanksgiving here, it’s the perfect time to give thanks to all of our amazing volunteers who make our thrift store such a special place! 🍂🦃

Today, we’re shining the spotlight on Pete! 🌟

Pete has been volunteering for many years, and we’ve been lucky enough to have him as part of our store family for 15 years! 🎉

Pete does an amazing job giving electronics a second chance at life and helping price all kinds of hardware items. His time, knowledge, and dedication make such a difference!

When we asked Pete what he loves most about volunteering, he shared that it’s the joy of meeting customers and making someone happy through their interactions. ❤️ He also shared that he loves to give rather than receive — a wonderful reminder of what volunteering is all about!

Pete recently shared a post on his own page about his volunteering experience, the adventures he’s found right here in his own community, and his encouragement for others to get involved. We wanted to share his words because they beautifully capture the many rewards of volunteering and the opportunities available to make a difference.

** check out what Pete had to say in the comments **

Pete, thank you for 15 years of generosity, hard work, and dedication to our thrift store! Your story is a wonderful reminder that volunteering can bring adventure, connection, learning, and joy at any stage of life. We’re so grateful to have you as part of our team! 🧡

Please join us in thanking Pete for all he does! And if you’ve ever thought about volunteering, maybe Pete’s story will inspire you to take that first step. There are so many ways to make a difference in our community! ❤️

Your thrift haul can help create lasting change.

In southeastern Zimbabwe, Patricia received a loan through her local village savings and loan association to build a borehole and irrigation system at her home. With reliable access to water, she's growing maize and building resilience in the face of climate change.

Support for projects like this is made possible through MCC. Every donation, purchase and volunteer hour at MCC Thrift helps support local and global initiatives that strengthen communities around the world. 💚

On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, MCC honours residential school Survivors and their families, who have suffered so much harm from Canada’s IRS system. In alignment with TRC Calls to Action 59 and 60, MCC supports educational and peacebuilding work such as the KAIROS Blanket Exercise, to teach a truer history of Canada, including governmental and church roles in the colonization of this land.
